Berkeley Electric Cooperative is helping its members beat the heat this summer by giving away a free window air conditioner each week all summer long. As a community-minded cooperative, Berkeley Electric realizes the summer heat can pose a danger for elderly members and those without access to air conditioning. To help those members, the co-op is partnering with WJNI Gospel Radio 106.3 FM to bring back the 106 Days of Summer promotion for its fifth year.
The contest, which ends in September, is open to Berkeley Electric members only and Marie Richardson of Moncks Corner was chosen as this year’s first weekly winner. Members can register for the drawing at any district office or online at www.berkeleyelectric.coop or www.wjnigospel.com. One entry is valid for the entire summer so there is no need to register more than once. Participants must be 21 years old to enter and a winner will be selected at random each week.
