Google is providing funding to Berkeley Electric Cooperative to support energy improvements, home repairs, and community services for households in Berkeley County. The funding, administered through the cooperative’s certified energy auditors and in partnership with local nonprofit Hope Repair, will also be used to support pre-weatherization, health and safety improvements, and workforce development initiatives that benefit the entire community.

Hope Repair began as an Outreach ministry of Pointe North Church in October 2009 and, over the past 15 years, has sent volunteer teams to work on nearly 1,500 homes. During that time, Hope Repair has had an impact of approximately $3,000,000 in Berkeley County related to the cost of materials and volunteer labor.
