"Proven Accomplishment, Local Resident"

My education and working experience make me uniquely qualified to serve my fellow members of the Berkeley Electric Cooperative.  I attended all three public schools on Johns Island and graduated from Saint Johns High School.  I have a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Clemson University and a Masters in Healthcare Informatics from the Medical University of South Carolina.

This January will make 23 years of employment with the Medical University Hospital Authority.  I have managed teams through several enterprise-wide software implementations and facility acquisitions.  During this time, I have served on various committees and received numerous hours of training in the areas of leadership, employee engagement, and process improvement.

In my educational endeavors, I received honor graduate designation from my advanced individual training with the Army National Guard as well as honor societies at both Clemson and MUSC.  After graduating from the Informatics program at MUSC, I was an adjunct professor in the programs for seven years.

I served on the board of Saint Pauls Dixie Youth Baseball and coached when my adult children played.  When not working or teaching for MUSC, I use my South Carolina residential builder’s license to occasionally take on a new home project.  Over the years, I have completed at least a dozen new residences on Johns Island and the surrounding Charleston area.  Most of these projects gave me to opportunity to work the Berkeley Electric to setup new service, determine rights-of-way, and build working relationships with Berkeley Electric employees.
